Start Date: February 2025 
End Date: August 2025 (start and end dates flexible, with possibility of extension)
Salary: $25/hr for 35-40 hours per week, with full benefits

The FACT Coalition is looking for a Fellow to support the Coalition’s advocacy objectives, internal and external communications, and operations. 

About Us

The Financial Accountability and Corporate Transparency (FACT) Coalition is a non-partisan alliance of more than 100 state, national, and international organizations. Our mission is to promote policies to combat the harmful impacts of illicit finance on communities, global security, and the environment, and to campaign for a fair international tax system. 
The successful candidate will join a pragmatic and winning coalition to help FACT during a time when multiple high-profile anti-money laundering and tax policy initiatives are entering a critical phase.

Position Description

The successful candidate will be an important part of the small FACT Coalition secretariat team, and will gain practical experience with a well-run policy advocacy organization.
The Communications and Operations Fellow will assist in maintaining the Coalition’s daily communications, advocacy, and operations needs, including by: 

  • Managing FACT’s communications and technical systems, including its social media (X, BlueSky, LinkedIn, etc.), email content (Quorum), listservs (Google Groups), meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meets), coordination tools, and website (WordPress);
  • Organizing briefings, advocacy events, and convenings, in consultation with the Secretariat staff, to advance FACT advocacy objectives;
  • Collaborating with FACT’s Government Affairs Director to manage relationships with Congress and with key FACT nonprofit and private sector allies;
  • Recruiting support for joint sign-on letters to various Administration officials and Members of Congress, and relevant litigation support as needed;
  • Providing scheduling and other administrative assistance to the Executive Director; and
  • Working with the Secretariat team to organize and complete other administrative duties, including organizing meetings, tracking press mentions, crafting narrative grant reports, and reconciling finances.

Beyond these day-to-day responsibilities, the Communications and Operations Fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to FACT policy advocacy initiatives.

  • Gain experience with professional communications in a fast-paced and evolving policy context.
  • Develop and/or expand policy knowledge in critical fields including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, international corporate taxation, and global environmental crimes.
  • Deepen understanding and practical skills in effective policy and legal advocacy, coalition management, and non-profit fundraising.   
  • Work alongside our Government Affairs team in crafting briefing papers, talking points, and communications with Members of Congress, committees, and their staff.
  • Aid in raising the profile of FACT’s policy goals through outreach to media organizations, where appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills;
  • Comfort collaborating with others in various team-based advocacy and writing projects, as well as working independently;
  • Proactive in communication and problem-solving; 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize information technology platforms (experience with Excel, Wordpress, and G Suite/Google Workspace preferred); 
  • Team player who can deliver in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in organizing successful public events;
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and intellectual curiosity;
  • Some graphic design skills are a plus.
